I Love To Laugh

They say that laughter is medicine for the soul. Well, Mom got a dose of it along with her chemo treatment this past Friday. When I asked her how her appointment went she told me that she had a lot of fun. I of course thought she was being sarcastic (we Murdock women can be that at times). But as it turns out another retired nurse was also in for treatment. She had previously been treated for pancreatic cancer and had the same surgery with the same doctor that Mom had. So they related stories of post-op recovery holding nothing back, being the nurses that they were. They also reminisced about nursing procedures in the 50's and 60's. Apparently they were laughing so loud that a couple of staff nurses had to come in and get in on the fun.
Now for the medical report. Mom's white blood count continues to go down and they reduced her chemo by 20% this past time. She will go in on Monday for a shot to stimulate her bone marrow to produce more white blood cells. She had been feeling pretty good until this afternoon. It started with a headache and then she complained that her bones were starting to ache. It came on fairly quickly and she had to lie down the rest of the evening.
Trivia Question: Can you name the movie that this post title was taken from?

Hi Marilyn,

I am praying for tomorrow and your next treatment. Praying that your white blood count is back up, that the treatment goes smoothly, and that you don't suffer any side effects.

When I talked to Mom the other day she commented that Dad thought you looked great (of course, I already knew that).

You know how to get a hold of me if you need anything. Please don't hestitate.

Bill
